Summer Cognac Cocktails - Featuring Remy Martin

Your New Favorite Summer Cognac Cocktail

Summer is just around the corner, and we're sure that in addition to endless beach days, some crazy nights are going to come with it! And, if you're like us here at Winefolder, you're wondering what will be the drink that defines your summer nights. You need something bold, something tangy, and something to be reckoned with. Well, we think we've found the answer: the sidecar. It's tart, potent, and exhilarating, and it makes great use of delicious Remy Martin Cognac Accord Royal – which you can order for delivery right here at Winefolder. For this blog, we'll tell you everything you need to make the perfect summer cocktail.

What You'll Need

·       2 oz Remy Martin Cognac Accord Royal
·       1 oz your favorite Orange Liqueur
·       .75 oz lemon juice
·       1 slice cut lemon
·       1 lemon wheel

Rim your glass with the cut lemon, being sure to get the outside covered in juice. Dip the glass into superfine sugar to coat the rim. Combine the cognac, liqueur, and lemon juice in a shaker, and then strain into the glass. To finish it off, garnish it with a lemon wheel. If you’re looking for a little variety, try this same recipe with our Remy Martin VSOP, Remy Martin XO Excellence, or any other Remy Martin Cognac we carry.

We love this drink because it's the perfect combination of two opposing flavors. The drink itself is sour and aggressive - it's the perfect thing to wake you up and get you ready for the night. But, the sugar coated rim rounds things out and keeps the drink balanced. These two flavors work against each other in a way that's sure to enhance your nights this summer!
